Vacation Destinations Worth Seeing

People think Camden and Bar Harbor are the only two places that are tourist destinations for visitors of Maine. They also think that if you don’t go to these two places, that you wouldn’t have truly visited Maine. They aren’t the only two places you have to visit in Maine. There’s Sand Beach, Cadillac Mountain, Acadia National Park, and many other places to visit in this particular section of Maine. I think out off all the places to visit in Maine, the two best places to visit would be Acadia National Park and Bangor. They both, to me, are the best places to visit in Maine and are two great tourist attractions.

Cadillac Mountain is located in Acadia National Park. On Cadillac Mountain, you can walk on the park trails, take park tours, hike or drive up to the summit of the mountain for views, and much, much more. In fact, the locals have recognized that those who see the sun break forth on the horizon from Cadillac Mountain are the first people in the United States to greet the new day. I find this an interesting fact. There is also a visitor center for first time visitors and tourists where they can find out a bit of information about the mountain and a place to buy souvenirs for your trip.

Sand Beach is also located in Acadia National Park. You can go to the beach and take a chilly swim in the ocean, bask in the sun, play volleyball, work on that tan, go hiking on the trails, or just relax and have fun. Be ready to tighten up if you venture into the water, for the temperature rarely exceeds fifty-five degrees Fahrenheit. There are

also many hiking trails along the mountains that surround the beach. There is one particularly popular hiking trail that begins on the shore of Sand Beach and then loops around the land called Great Head that juts out into the sea on the farther side of Sand Beach. Along the trail, you will be able to see and visit Thunder Hole and Otter Cliff.

Besides the peacefulness and serenity of Acadia National Park, there is the most famous and best place to visit on a visit to Maine: downtown Bangor. if you are looking to come to Maine not only for it’s sights and sounds, come to Bangor, where you can shop, eat, and participate in the events that are always happening in the area. Whether it’s for important business, or you just want to have a good time, Bangor is the place for you.

Whether you decide to travel downeast to the Acadia National Park area, or journey to the Queen City of Bangor, I guarantee you will have one heck of a memorable time.
