Quite Naturally the Best of Maine

Did you know Baxter State Park is the most phenomenal place on the earth? If you didn’t, then let me explain to you why you have not lived yet. There are so many activities you can do at Baxter. A sample of these activities include hiking, canoeing, swimming, and camping.

One of my favorite activities at Baxter is hiking. There are two main kinds of paths. There are the paths that go up the hills and mountains and there are the trails that go around the lake. I’d choose the uphill path if I were you because if you don’t, then you will be called a lazy bum and be ridiculed by all your friends. They will leave you and nobody will ever like you again and you will die alone. Just kidding! But I’d still take the uphill trails because those trails give you more exercise and will also give you an exceptional view of the campgrounds, other mountains and hills, and the lakes.

Canoeing is also one of my favorite activities at Baxter State Park. Canoeing is just an all around exhilarating experience. This is especially true when you accidentally ram into other canoes and tip them over. So if you don’t like being tipped over, then don’t go canoeing. Canoeing is hard to do when it’s windy out, when the wind is blowing the water against you, and you have to paddle against the waves and end up in the splash zone. So what if the water is cold? Suck it up! Just do it!

I’m going to combine swimming and camping because they are both exceedingly enjoyable. In my opinion, there is nothing more rewarding than pitching your own tent and living in the woods. If you don’t like the woods, oh well. Don’t go. It’s your loss. If you’ve never been camping you haven’t lived your life to the fullest. You should leave the laptop, phone, and iPod at home and enjoy the serenity of nature. And swimming, don’t forget to jump into your bathing suit and then sprint down to the lake. All I hear is “I haven’t gotten my bikini body back yet,” and “The water’s too cold!” Give me a break! This is Maine, of course the water is going to be cold. If you don’t like the cold, then why are you living in Maine?

Do come to Baxter State Park and you won’t regret it. It’s one of the many reasons why Maine is called ‘Vacationland,” and so many tourists come to try out “life, the way it should be.” I WANT YOU…. to come to experience the best Maine has to offer. Baxter State Park is waiting for you.
