“Bahaba,” Maine

Maine, as you may have heard, is known as “Vacationland.” But you haven’t truly been on vacation if you haven’t been to Bar Harbor. When you think about it, everything you want in a vacation is in conveniently located in Bar Harbor: breathtaking landscapes, rejuvenating relaxation spots, delicious foods, quaint little shops, and some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. I’m going to explain to YOU why Bar Harbor in the one and only place to go for vacation.

Bar Harbor is located on the coast of Maine. There is always plenty of fresh seafood, particularly lobster, which makes a succulent meal. Bar Harbor is a small town with an off-season population 5,235 residents. One might ask, “What can you do in such a small town?” Well, I’ll tell you. Say you get to Bar Harbor at night after a long day of traveling; you can sleep in one of their fine quality B and B’s which stands for bed and breakfast, where you can get a rejuvenating sleep and wake up to a delicious homemade meal of eggs, bacon, toast, hot coffee and warm waffles. Now that you have stuffed yourself with some delicious food, why don’t we burn off some of those calories by taking a hike on Carriage Road in Acadia National Park? After that long walk you’re bound to feel

a bit tired and hungry, again. Why not stop at Morning Glory bakery where you can enjoy a delicious sandwich made with their homemade bread and their large variety of toppings? You can wash it down with their heavenly, homemade lemonade. And for dessert, head over to Ben and Bill’s Ice Cream Shop where you can enjoy their absolutely, positively, delicious coconut ice cream!! If you don’t like coconut ice cream, then you have some serious problems! Just kidding! If you don’t like coconut ice cream then you can chose from their large array of other flavors.

You can continue your day by taking a trip to the Seawall located in Southwest Harbor where you can drink in the gorgeous scenery and see the waves as they crash onto the rocks and hear the seagulls crying to one another. When you get tired of that you can go back to Bar Harbor and have supper in one of their fine dining restaurants such as the Mache Bistro, or if fine dinning is not your cup of tea, consider something less formal like Pat’s Pizza or Cafe this Way. To top off your day, you can sit in the town park or take a walk through Bar Harbor and browse along all the shop windows that are lit up at night. Now doesn’t that sound enjoyable to you?
