The Paths I Take

Now that my high school career is coming to a end, I have decided to start

thinking about what paths in life I want to take, and figure out what is going to be best for me in the near future. After thinking it all over, I applied to college and got accepted at UMPI in the Criminal Justice Program. The course is a four year program.

The main reason I wanted to be in the Criminal Justice Program was because I

want to be in the U.S. Border Patrol when it’s all said and done. I know you don’t need a degree to get in the Border Patrol, but I want at least some kind of degree under my

belt when I enter the world on my own, just in case something happens to my dreams.

Once im out of school I want to take the test for the Border Patrol and hopefully pass so I can be sent away to Texas for my training where I will soon develop into an actual

agent working in the field.

When that is all done I will stay in Texas and work for two years and then I’ll have an option to go anywhere I want to go. Once the two years are up I want to be
transferred back up here in the Houlton area. The reason why is because I grew up here and I love living here. So this is definitely the area I will be working in the next 7 to 8 years, and hopefully be living in my dream house on my favorite lake which is Deering Lake in Weston, Maine.

I’m sure I will run into obstacles along the way that will slow me down or even put me down, but I know what I want and that’s the job I have dreamed about since 7th grade. It will be impossible for anything to stop me from me getting to the point I want to be in life. I am up for any challenge that will be set in front of me along the way. Bring it

on, because I am ready!
